We are so lucky to have friends who spoil us rotten! Our friends recently got an indoor smoker, they invited us over, and treated us to smoked olives, roasted smoked garlic bread, smoked wings with three sauces, homemade fork-rolled gnocchi (I helped!) with an applewood smoked tomato sauce, and peanut butter banana cookies with smoked maple syrup. Seriously!

We started off the new year right by hosting brunch for friends, and Mel made a delicious meal! Front and center: cheddar and onion scones … so good!

Most of Montreal’s Botanical Gardens were under a few inches of snow, but their greenhouses were open, and we had a magical afternoon wandering through the various fairy tale lands with gorgeous colors, textures, sounds and smells.

We had never been to Tanglewood before, and a few weeks ago, we got tickets to see Yo-yo Ma and the Silk Road Ensemble. It was a beautiful evening, and it was an absolutely unforgettable concert.

On our way to Tanglewood, we had a delicious dinner … including duck tacos! … at District Kitchen and Bar in Pittsfield, MA.

On our way out to the Berkshires, we stopped at Mosaic Cafe in Northampton for delicious crepes.

Great clouds, from the farm where we stopped for ice cream after dinner with our grandparents.
