Somebody missed their mommy …

Becca took us to one of her favorite places to walk … we walked the whole way around Beaver Lake, then wandered through the bird sanctuary before heading back to the house to relax.

Visiting Becca usually means singing after breakfast 🙂

Our visit to Asheville began with a delicious dinner at a bbq restaurant (can’t remember the name, but it was awesome!) Good food tastes better with old friends 🙂

Merry and Jeremy hosted a lovely summer bbq to celebrate the sixth anniversary of me and Merry turning 29 earlier this month. We’ve been celebrating our birthdays together since circa 1992, and it was really nice way to spend a cool Memorial Day weekend afternoon. Plus it’s always fun to play with Liz and Jen’s girls. I was a lucky auntie when two little girls climbed onto my lap to play a bizarre game of pretending to bite each other and giggling about it. (thanks to Brian and Lee for the photos)

While we were in Maryland celebrating family occasions, we were able to take advantage of a little bit of down time at the hotel on Friday afternoon … Hannah brought her son to visit, which was so lovely because we hadn’t seen either of them in too long! Who knew that watching a two-year-old explore a hotel lobby could be so entertaining!

We had the honor of joining friends at their wedding food tasting … we got treated to a delicious meal, we got to help them make some decisions, and we got to see the gorgeous venue where they’ll be getting married in a few short months! A lovely evening with good friends

Liz hosted a party for her and Jen’s birthday a month late, and a bunch of old friends got together to play with the kids, play in the snow and decorate cupcakes 🙂

We had a delightful New Year’s Eve with a few friends who are all planning to celebrate wonderful milestones in 2016! And it was lovely to see our friend’s mom … it had been too long

On the drive home, I took a handful of terrible photos that show the Prudential Tower lit up with ’16’. Welcome 2016!!

The girls took a short break from playing with their Christmas presents to listen to Uncle Brian read a story.

On Christmas Eve, Brian took over the kitchen to make an incredible chicken pot pie for dinner, and a delicious bread pudding for dessert. He used to make his bread pudding all the time when he was younger, so his mom and sister were very pleasantly surprised to enjoy an old favorite dish!

The best kind of dinner party is when your friends come over and make amazing food in your kitchen, and all you have to do is clean up 🙂
